![]() At this point in time, there’s no explanation in canon about how to turn a Kyber Crystal black. Wielded by Tarre Vizsla, the only Mandalorian inducted into the Jedi Order, the Darksaber manifests as an actual blade, giving it a distinct appearance compared to typical lightsabers. In all of canon, there’s only one black lightsaber, the Darksaber. Of all the colors, none are as mysterious or rare as black. That’s not to say Respawn couldn’t add the color into the game as an unlockable bonus. ![]() As Cal never gets his hand on a corrupted Kyber Crystal, it’s impossible for him to get a white blade. Both are held by Ahsoka Tano.ĭue to the rarity and circumstances required to get a white-bladed lightsaber, it’s clear why it was left on the cutting room floor. Emitting a white blade, this lightsaber color is so rare that there are only two white lightsabers in the current Star Wars canon. If red lightsabers are acquired by bleeding a Kyber crystal, then what happens when one purifies them? The answer would be the pure white Kyber Crystal. Also, why not throw in his Inquisitor outfit as well as a cool bonus.įamous Users: Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Second Sister, Ninth Sister Considering there’s a brief sequence where Cal does obtain a red lightsaber, this is more than possible. It’d be cool, however, to get it added post-launch or through a New Game + mode. To turn a crystal red, a dark side user would need to make the Kyber Crystal bleed by filling it with all their hate and emotion.Īs Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order doesn’t feature a storyline where Cal turns to the dark side, it makes sense why the color isn’t available at launch. The crimson blades most often associated with the Dark Side of the Force, red Kyber Crystals are unnatural. Still, it would be cool to see Respawn add the colors in at some point as fun, non-canon additions post-launch. The following colors either wouldn’t work within the story confines or are so rare that it’s unlikely Cal could ever acquire them. Orange (Available at the start of the game find a workbench to swap colors)ĭespite the long list of available colors, three canon colors didn’t make the cut.Green (Find a workbench to swap colors). ![]() At this point, additional color options open up. In Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, towards the end of the campaign, Cal arrives on Ilum and acquires a Kyber Crystal. Kyber Crystals are initially colorless and it’s only after a Youngling finds the right one that the crystal changes to the color corresponding to the younglings spiritual alignment. An ice planet in the Unknown Regions, Ilum hosts “The Gathering.” As seen in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode of the same name, a Gathering takes place when Jedi Younglings travel to Ilum to acquire Kyber Crystals to create their lightsabers. While quite a few places in the galaxy naturally produce the crystals, Jedi specifically acquire theirs from Ilum. Lightsaber blades are powered by Kyber Crystals. SPOILERS!
